Proverbs.

So, I’ve decided to start working my way through Proverbs, which is something I haven’t done before. Last night I read the introduction and the first part of chapter one, which is also like an introduction to Proverbs. This is what I learned:

• While knowledge will help pass tests and accomplish tasks, wisdom will guide you through the most important decisions in life.
• The purpose of the book of Proverbs is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, and the help them do what is right, just and fair. (1:3)
• Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline. (1:7)
• Wisdom = knowledge of what is right and true together with just judgement. (Also, discernment.)

You know, when most people see COD they think of Call of Duty.

Reality is very rarely real. Sometimes I feel like life is like reality television. There is some truth to it, but it’s edited, and cut and touched up. They show you things that will draw you in, make you want to watch and become immersed in the reality they are creating. Meanwhile, 95% of what happened isn’t shown, so you can’t figure out the real truth of the situation. Likewise, in life, you only know what people show you, only know what you can perceive, only give what you want to be known. How can reality be true, when your reality is filtered through other people’s opinion on what is okay for you to know. How can you make a good decision on anything when nothing is really real? How do you live in the real world, when the real world doesn’t really exist? 

This is why I like science fiction. I know it isn’t real, so it doesn’t matter.
